INSHORE / LIGHT TACKLE FISHING
Inshore fishing, also called light tackle fishing is always a fun time! Guests will use spinning rods baited with squid, stripped ballyhoo, or lures depending on what fish you are targeting. There are two styles of inshore fishing that are utilized. Light tackle trolling and bottom fishing. The catch rate on these charters are usually higher as you are targeting areas where fish usually congregate. This style of fishing is always recommended for kids and anglers that just want to catch fish and are not necessarily concerned about the size of the fish.
Light Tackle Trolling
Rods will be set for trolling over shallow areas and reefs.
Bottom Fishing
The boat will be anchored over a reef and rods will be cast and jigged to entice the fish to your hook.
Species Typically Targeted
Amberjack, barracuda, kingfish, grouper, snapper, yellowtail, and mackerel.
What You Can Catch Inshore
OFFSHORE / DEEP SEA FISHING
Offshore fishing, also known as deep sea fishing is where the toughest fighting and larger fish can be found. In Nassau we do not have to travel far to get to ocean as the continental shelf drops off only about a half mile from shore. Guests will use 50 wide Shimano reels baited with a variety of skirted ballyhoo, plugs, and lures depending on what fish you are targeting.
When fishing in the ocean you will be trolling for the larger migratory species that are in the area at the time. These species will change depending on the time of year you are fishing. No matter what species you are targeting, the majority of these fast and strong predators will put up a good fight on its way to the boat.
Species Typically Targeted
Mahi-mahi, blue marlin, yellow fin tuna and wahoo.
